Bultrikova, Saule Tulebaevna

Saule Tulebaevna Bultrikova was born on January 29, 1948 in Alma-Ata. She graduated from the architecture department of the Lenin Kazakh Polytechnic Institute in 1972.

Her work in Almaty has, sadly, all been dismantled. She was the main designer of the cafe Kumyskhana, a venue specializing in Kazakh food and drinks. For this establishment, she designed a large stained glass showing figures from the tales of Aldar Kose, as well as a bas-relief of seemingly abstract Kazakh patterns in which she hid the symbols of Kazakh tribes. Baktygan Kabidoldanov assisted in the installation of these works.

At another Almaty cafe, Dostyk, also since closed and dismantled, she contributed a work in sgraffito.

In addition to her work in Almaty, she worked on the design of monumental art for a theater in Aktobe.
