Funkorineo, Yuriy FranciskovichYuriy Franciskovich Funkorineo was born on February 18, 1941 in Rostov-on-Don, Russia to Spanish parents. He graduated from the Leningrad Vera Mukhina Higher School of Art and Design in 1972.
In July of 1980, Funkorineo would tragically lose his first wife Erna and their two kids, 10-year-old Kristina and 5-year-old Mark, in the crash of Aeroflot Flight 4225 near Almaty. He would later remarry and have a daughter, Masha, with his second wife Rimma. After independence, Funkorineo and his wife moved Israel, where they live today. In addition to his work in Almaty, Funkorineo has major works of monumental art in the towns of Buzuluk and Kokpekty. |
