Pak, Boris Petrovich

Boris Petrovich Pak was born April 4, 1935 In-Koreiskoe in Russia. His family was ethnic Korean and was deported by Stalin to Kazakhstan. In 1966, he graduated from the Repin Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.

His single work of monumental art in Almaty consists of the ceramic reliefs at the Arasan Bathhouse. For this piece, he led a team with Aleksandr Korneyev and Reshat Kozhakhmetov.

​Pak died tragically on April 1, 1992, beaten to death by criminals who mistook him for somebody else.
