Rapoport, Mikhail VladimirovichMikhail Vladimirovich Rapoport was born May 29, 1948 in Almaty. In 1972 he graduated from the Ostrovsky Institute of Theater and Art in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Best known as an oil painter, Rapoport made three relief sculptures in Almaty, one of which, at the Ministry of Health (1976), has since been destroyed. His reliefs in the Winter Garden of the House of Scholars (1984) and on the administrative building of the Kazakhfilm Studio (1985, with Zaltsmann) can still be seen. He also contributed to a mural, titled “Science,” that was located at the Kazakh State University, but whose status is currently unknown. In 1990 he moved to Israel, where he lives and works to this day.
